Two Arrested in Iredell County Heroin Trafficking
IREDELL COUNTY, N.C. -- Iredell County detectives have arrested two men with ties to a Mexican drug cartel in the Charlotte area. Sheriff Phil Redmond stated that after investigation into a large scale heroin trafficking organization, detective arrested Jeremy Scott Becker, 23, of Lake Pine Road in Mooresville, NC, and Rico Davarsha Flemming, 30, of Holly Knoll Drive in Charlotte, NC. Detectives discovered during the investigation that both Becker and Flemming were transporting large quantities of heroin from Charlotte into the southern Iredell County area to be sold. The investigation is ongoing and many people who have been purchasing heroin from the suspects have been identified. Further arrests are anticipated. Detectives from the Narcotics Division are continuing to follow up on information they have received thus far, and expect additional heroin seizures from the Mexican drug cartel organization. Flemming and Becker were found by an undercover officer, who met with each suspect individually. After the undercover officer purchased quantities of heroin from the suspects, they were immediately taken into custody by detectives from the narcotics division with assistance from the Aggressive Criminal Enforcement Team. Rico Davarsha Flemming was charged with Sell/Deliver Heroin, Possession with Intent to Sell Heroin, and Maintaining a Vehicle/Dwelling for Controlled Substances. He is being held at the Iredell County Detention Center under $30,000 secured bond. Flemming has an extensive criminal background, including previous drug arrests. Jeremy Scott Becker was charged with two counts of Trafficking Heroin, Sell/Deliver Heroin, Possession with Intent to Sell/Deliver Heroin, and Maintaining a Vehicle/Dwelling for Controlled Substances. Becker was also taken to the Iredell County Detention Center. He is also being held under a $50,000 secured bond. The arrest of Flemming and Becker, as well as other recent arrests made by the narcotic division, has greatly disrupted the distribution of heroin into Iredell County. Detectives continue to pursue this matter. Other suspects involved are under relentless investigation.
