Two Dead After Motorcycle Crash in Granite FallsGRANITE FALLS, NC -- Two people are dead following a motorcycle crash in Granite Falls. According to the North Carolina Highway Patrol, John Franklin, of Claremont, NC, and Allison Nixon, of Conover, were going south in Blowing Rock around 11:30 a.m. Officers say they saw the 2002 Yamaha motorcycle weaving and speeding through traffic and chased the motorcycle into Lenoir. The chase continued into Granite Falls near a Wal-Mart on Glenridge Drive. Troopers say a woman making a left turn pulled out and was hit on the left front fender. Police say they were not pursuing the vehicle in a chase at the time of the accident. Both riders on the motorcycle were pronounced deceased. The driver of the car suffered non-life threatening injuries and was taken to an area hospital.
