CHARLOTTE, NC- It won't be business as usual for many local venues and businesses during the Democratic National Convention.

Some will cash in - renting out their spaces for dignitaries.

Hard work... and pure luck. That's how the owner of Flex+Fit in Uptown Charlotte describes being chosen by the Huffington Post and A.O.L. as a rental space during the week of the DNC.

An important note - it's invitation only!

"They set up this oasis where it's a retreat for their staff, delegates, congressman and celebrities," said Shama Patel, owner of Flex+Fit.

One room will be turned into a private yoga studio with air yoga, while the current spinning room will be morphed into a full spa with massages, facials and pedicures.

Fox News Channel is renting out part of the NASCAR Hall of Fame to broadcasting three hours of programming every morning during the week of the DNC

MSNBC signed a two week lease for the main floor of the Epicentre and the Daily Show With Jon Stewart will rent space for 12 days in Imaginon.

Other venues like the NC Music Factory have locked contracts for parties.

Patel says the convention is opening big doors for her and her uptown neighbors for years to come.

"It's such a big, amazing opportunity that we wouldn't have ever otherwise been exposed to in our first year of operation had it no been for the fact that the DNC is hosted in Charlotte," said Patel.
