Welfare And The N.C. LotteryCHARLOTTE,NC--People on welfare could soon be forbidden from playing the lottery in North Carolina. The idea was brought up by a Republican State Rep. from Wake County. Paul Stam says welfare is supposed to help people get bare necessities, not wasted on lottery tickets. The GOP controlled general assembly could debate this issue during the upcoming legislative session. |
