West Charlotte Fire Under Investigation

CHARLOTTE, N.C.-- Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police are investigating the cause of a fire that destroyed a home in west Charlotte.

The call for service came in at 2:11 a.m. for a structure fire off Freedom Drive. Crews had the blaze under control before 4 a.m.

Freedom Drive was closed for a short period due to the incident. A report shows about $100,000 in damages.
