CHARLOTTE, N.C.--A winter storm warning has been issued for the Charlotte area from 6 p.m. Thursday night to 6 a.m. Friday morning.
There is a possibility of 1-2 inches of rain in the Piedmont area today. As we dip into the freezing temperatures this evening, there is a chance of 1-3 inches of snow late Thursday night into early Friday morning.

The North Carolina mountains are expected to get 3-5 inches of snowfall Thursday from Asheville to Boone. The foothills are expected to get 3-7 inches of snow.
