DENVER, N.C.-- A Lincoln County woman was arrested after crashing her car into a daycare center she was fired from.

Deputies responded to the Tutor Time Day Care Center on Waterside Loop Road just before 3 p.m. Tuesday after workers reported a terminated employee drove her car into the glass front doors of the facility.

Amy Susan Fier, 60, is charged with one misdemeanor count each of assault with a deadly weapon, second degree trespassing, communicating threats, and injury to real property. Officers say she left the scene and was pulled over nearby with broken glass on her car.

Several elementary school age children were in the lobby of the building but no one was injured in the incident.  Damage to the building was estimated at $3,000.

She was released after posting an $8,000 secured bond.
