MOUNT HOLLY, N.C. -- Gastonia Police Department and Gaston County Police have located a suspect in the murder a Mount Holly man -- the victim's son.
Mount Holly Police entered the home of Ashwin Kumar Vaghibhai Patel Friday night, when they received a call in reference to checking on the welfare of Mr. Patel. When they entered, police found the Ashwin Patel, 62, dead from a gunshot wound.
Officers had probable cause for a Warrant for Arrest on Mr. Patel's son, Jiten Patel, 28, for First Degree Murder of the same address. The suspect had taken the victim's car, a 2002 gold Toyota Camry.
Gastonia police and Gaston County police were able to locate the wanted suspect during a traffic stop in Gastonia.
