Bulletproof White Boards In Minnesota Schools
by WCCB Charlotte

COLD SPRING,MN--Versatile school supplies could help teachers fend off possible attackers.

A school in Minnesota is putting bulletproof whiteboards in every classroom.

The boards reportedly weigh a couple of pounds and are a quarter of an inch thick, they act like a shield and are designed to withstand bullets fired at close range.

Cold Spring's police chief, Phil Jones, says it's the best option he's seen,"if someone decides to pick on a classroom and shoot their way into it, it's between you and this board," says Jones.

Besides being a defensive tool the boards are said to be strong enough to use as a weapon, hitting or jabbing an attacker.
