CHARLOTTE, NC-- The cost of your health insurance could go up by double digits. Some Health Insurance providers have raised premiums by 20% despite the Obama Administration's new Health Care law. Others providers want to follow.

The average North Carolina family pays almost $15,000 per year in premiums.

Medical Contributor Marc Siegel says: "If they can't afford the premiums, they're either not gonna get coverage or they're going to end up in the state exchange in a year, getting coverage that's federally subsidized which is going to cost the tax payer money , there is nothing in the Obamacare law that's going to keep premiums down."

North Carolina is one of the 37 states where legislators have told regulators that they do not have to okay excessive premium increases.
