CHARLOTTE, N.C.--Reaction tonight from the local chapter of the Susan G. Komen Foundation after a shakeup in national leadership. The organization's president Liz Thompson is resigning, and founder Nacy Brink will step away from day-to-day management.

The fallout comes after the group briefly cut Planned Parenthood's funding for breast cancer screenings earlier this year.

Susan G. Komen's "Race for the Cure" takes place in October. More than 20 thousand people showed up to walk or run in the event last year. Nationally, participation and fundraising is down at the organization.
