Lawmakers Question Response to Libya Attack WASHINGTON, D.C.-- New concerns from top American lawmakers Sunday night over the deadly attack on the US consulate in Libya. The White House and intelligence officials say it was the work of terrorists. The assault in early September killed US ambassador Chris Stevens and three other Americans. Now some Republicans want to know what took the administration so long to label it as terrorism. Obama advisors say the attack was a complex situation, and that it wasn't always clear it was a terrorist attack.
