Mobile Fingerprint Scanner Helps Police Crack Down on Crime

MESA, A.Z.--A mobile fingerprint scanner that some say could go too far is helping crack down on crime in one Arizona town.

It only takes cops in Mesa a few seconds to scan a suspect's fingers then enter them into a database.  They know right away if a suspect is who he says he is.

The ACLU has privacy concerns.

CMPD tested the mobile fingerprint devices in 2010.  We are told the department never fully implemented them.
