WASHINGTON, D.C.-- Representative Sue Myrick (R) was presented with the National Intelligence Distinguished Public Service Medal Thursday.

Jim Clapper, Director of National Intelligence, presented her the award.

This award is only given to those individuals determined to have provided extraordinary contributions in support of the Intelligence Community.

“I’m honored to have received this award from the Director of National Intelligence,” said Myrick in a statement. “It’s been one of the great privileges of my career to have served on the House Intelligence Committee, and I have a great respect for the Intelligence personnel who put their lives on the line each day to help secure this country.”

This is the highest award an individual not officially part of the Intelligence Community can attain.
