Pregnant Teenager Sues Parents For Pushing AbortionHOUSTON, T.X.--Officials say a Texas teenager is suing her parents because they are trying to force her to abort her unborn child. A Houston judge has issued a temporary restraining order to prevent an abortion since the case is ongoing. The 16-year-old says her parents are verbally and physically threatening her to have an abortion. In the lawsuit, the teen says her parents have kept her out of school and took her phone and car from her. She also claims her father has harassed the father of the child and the child's paternal grandmother. The teen's mother allegedly said she wanted to slip her daughter the abortion pill. Under Roe v. Wade a woman has a right to decide whether she wants an abortion and under Bellotti v. Baird a teenager has the right to make her own decisions concerning her reproductive health, according to FOX News. |
