LAS VEGAS,NV--Obama unveiled a proposal that he says will secure a path to citizenship for 11 million undocumented immigrants.
The plan involves such individuals pay taxes, learn English, go through background checks, but will also have access to government health care.
Obama is gaining allies in South Carolina because of a growing number of farmers wanting reform, due to the reliance of temporary foreign workers.
The President wants Congress to move forward on his plan but similar proposals are being developed in the House and Senate.
