LANDSTUHL, GERMANY -- Questions about how an American soldier freed after five years in captivity ended up behind enemy lines.  Sergeant Bowe Bergdahl is in stable condition in a German hospital.   A team is reportedly working to earn his trust to learn more about what happened.  Saturday, Bergdahl was freed in exchange for five Taliban detainees at Guantanamo Bay.

A soldier who served with Bergdahl says he walked off his base voluntarily.   "He immediately started separating himself away from us and everyone else in the platoon and started gravitating more towards the Afghan soldiers," said former US Army Sergeant Josh Korder.

Six US soldiers died in separate searches for Bergdahl.  Bergdahl's former squad leader says he believes an investigation should happen as soon as possible.
