Same-Sex Couples Begin Marrying In Washington
by Caryn Little

SEATTLE, WASHINGTON--Hundreds of gay and lesbian couples in Washington state are now legally married.

Washington is one of three states where voters approved same-sex marriage by popular vote last month.

The governor signed the law on Wednesday.  About 140 couples got married at Seattle's city hall alone.

More than 600 same-sex marriage licenses had been issued there by Saturday.
