MAXTON, N.C. (AP) — A Maxton man has been shot to death at his home after he went to see who was on his front porch.
The Fayetteville Observer reported (http://bit.ly/mOsnAR) that Robeson County Sheriff's Maj. Howard Branch said 21-year-old Terry McLauchlin was inside the front door of the mobile home when deputies arrived around 12:30 a.m. Thursday.
Branch says McLauchlin's girlfriend and two children, ages 8 and 6, were not hurt.
Carla Bullard told investigators that McLauchlin was in playing a video game in the living room when he heard someone on the porch.
Bullard says she heard gunshots and then took the children and went next door to call for help.
Branch says investigators found three bullet holes in the door and shell casings in the yard.
No arrests have been made.
