NC group shipping pillow cases to Kuwait

DUNN, N.C. (AP) — Some North Carolina groups are working to ship pillow cases to military hospitals in Kuwait for American troops.

The Fayetteville Observer reported (http://bit.ly/JHDDI0 ) that Jeannie Beasley asked a member of her church who was serving in Kuwait about the special needs of the American troops being treated there.

Beasley says Capt. Wanda Henderson told her that an unusual but pressing need is for more pillow cases.

Beasley launched Operation Pillow Talk.

Inspirational messages are being written on the donated pillow cases. Beasley's boss has agreed to pay for shipping.

Several churches and schools in the Fayetteville area are donating pillow cases.

She says the messages range from thanks, to blessings, to Scripture, to prayers.

Beasley hopes the pillow cases will spark conversation among the soldiers in Kuwait.
