4 nominated to serve on TVA boardNASHVILLE, Tenn. (AP) — Four people have been nominated by President Barack Obama to serve on the board of the Tennessee Valley Authority, a federal utility that serves 8.5 million people in six states. The Chattanooga Times Free Press (http://bit.ly/UpHyQ9) reports the nominations of D.V. Lynn Evans, Joe H. Ritch, Marilyn A. Brown and Michael McWherter. Democratic U.S. Rep. Steve Cohen said in a statement that he recommended Evans, who is a certified public accountant from Memphis. U.S. Sen.
