NC woman gets 4 years for DWI convictionsASHEVILLE, N.C. (AP) — A western North Carolina resident is facing four years in prison for a pair of driving while impaired convictions. The Asheville Citizen-Times reports (http://avlne.ws/RJ8kU6) 27-year-old Jesica Simonds pleaded guilty to the DWI charge Thursday and received a 2-year sentence. That will be served at the end of a 2-year sentence she's already serving stemming from a DWI conviction in Haywood County. Simonds was arrested in April in Buncombe County after a N.C. Highway Patrol trooper stopped her and found she was visibly impaired. A blood test showed she had prescription painkillers and marijuana in her blood. As Simonds awaited the results of her blood test, she crashed into a woman's car in Waynesville in July.
