4 Arrested in Hickory Kidnapping
HICKORY, N.C. -- A kidnapping victim who was bound by duct tape inside a house is safe.
Police arrested four suspects who allegedly kidnapped a man from a Lowe's Hardware parking lot.
Alfonso Moreno was reported missing by an acquaintance when she received a phone call demanding ransom money for Moreno's safe return.
Police were able to establish a possible location of the victim.
Hickory Police, with the assistance of the Catawba County Sheriff's office, entered a house located on 21st Street Drive SE. They found Moreno and four suspects - 21-year old Jorge Rentas, 23-year old Alejandro Zambrano, 23-year old Gema Zambrano and 19-year old Orlando Zambrano.
Rentas and Alejandro Zambrano are charged with Robbery with a Dangerous Weapon, Kidnapping and Conspiracy. Gema and Orlando Zambrano are charged with KIdnapping and Conspiracy.
All four suspects are from Illinois.
Police are still looking for the victim's vehicle, a 2005 White Cadillac STS, 4 door bearing NC registration BFD-9695. Video footage from Lowe’s Hardware shows the victim’s vehicle pulling into a parking space and a second vehicle, a dark colored minivan pulls up beside him. A short time later, both vehicles drive off in the same direction. Neither vehicle was found at the residence where the victim was location.
