Bank Robbery Suspects Caught At Bus Stop

CHARLOTTE, N.C. -- Police have arrested two suspects connected to a Friday evening robbery.

N. Tryon Division patrol officers were dispatched to 6709 N. Tryon Street after a 911 call for service concerning a robbery from the First Citizen's Bank. Responding officers saw a male and female at a nearby bus stop, both covered in dye from an exploded dye pack.

Police stopped both suspects, identified as Carlos Simpson, 21, and Pamela Simpson, 48, and found a note used in the commission of the robbery as well as the money that was taken from the bank.

Armed Robbery detectives responded to the scene along with robbery detectives from the Safe Street Task Force and FBI. The suspects were transported to the Law Enforcement Center where they were questioned by Armed Robbery detectives.

They are both charged with Common Law Robbery and Conspiracy to commit Robbery. Pamela Simpson is the mother of Carlos Simpson.
