CMS Updates Possible School Closing ListCHARLOTTE, NC-Changing the face of the Charlotte Mecklenburg school system! The district narrows its school closing list to about a dozen and brings specifics to the table. One of the schools on the closing list is Davidson IB Middle. The school has a small student body, about 250 kids, in a facility that was built in the 40's. CMS staff suggested the whole program be moved to Alexander Middle School in Huntersville. Some parents say they can't understand why one the district's top schools could be moved. Davidson IB Parent Pam Dolaher says "We have the top magnet middle school in the nation right here in CMS and yet they want to move it." Another idea debated, moving Smith Language Academy students and staff to E.E. Waddell and putting the high school students in other schools. CMS plans to hold community meetings.
