EMT Charged In Deadly Crash

RUBY, S.C.-- The driver of an ambulance that wrecked in Monroe, killing a fellow EMT, was charged Thursday night. Word of the summons came hours after family members buried the victim.

The funeral for Belinda Rivers was Thursday in Ruby, South Carolina. She worked for Sandhill Ambulance Service in Cheraw.

Rivers and driver, Jonathan Brown, dropped off a patient at CMC Union on Tuesday. They were turning from Venus Street onto Highway 74 when the Ambulance Slammed into an 18 wheeler.

The driver of the truck did not get hurt. Brown is charged with misdemeanor death by vehicle.
