Father Charged with Abuse of Twin ChildrenHUNTERSVILLE, N.C. -- A Huntersville father is behind bars today for abusing his seven-week-old twin children. The Huntersville Police Department responded to 7540 Rolling Meadows Lane last Thursday, January 18, to an unresponsive 7-week-old infant. Shortly after, the seven-week old was pronounced dead at the residence. Throughout this active death investigation, it was determined that the child was a victim of abuse. Serious injuries were documented during an autopsy that were unrelated to the cause of the death. The next day, police and Medic arrived to a call for service at a Huntersville area Pediatrician's Office. The call was in reference to injuries to the dead child's twin sibling. Medic transported the infant to Presbyterian Hemby Children’s Emergency Department in Charlotte, where it was determined that the injuries were a result of being abused. Huntersville Police Department arrested Cory Geisler, 25, the biological father of the twins on Sunday. He was charged on one count of Child Abuse Inflicting Serious Bodily Injury. The arrest was in reference to the January 18 incident. |
