GASTONIA, N.C. -- Gastonia Police are asking for the public’s help to find the men responsible for stealing over $12,000 worth of gasoline.

On December 18,  a suspect paid several dollars for gas at the Save-More on 1201 Union Road, but then apparently bypassed the pumps to fill up two vehicles which appear in surveillance video to be a Ford Taurus and Dodge Durango. The store owner told police this has been happening several times a day for a number of days since the beginning of December with an estimated 3,700 gallons stolen. Three suspects are believed to be involved.

Suspect images have been captured on surveillance video and anyone who can identify them is asked to call Detective Nancy Capistran at (704) 866-6884, or Crime Stoppers of Gaston County at (704) 861-8000. Crime Stoppers pays up to $1,000 for information that leads to an arrest.
