Hickory Police Officers Cleared After Shooting Suspect
HICKORY, NC -- Two Hickory police officers have been cleared after a suspect was shot and killed at a gas station.
Officers Clay Albrect and John Ray were cleared of any criminal misconduct after they shot and killed Drew Marian Spencer, 21, of Taylorsville, NC.
Reports say that on June 2nd officers were questioning Spencer, who was in the drivers seat of a truck parked at a Kangaroo Express in Hickory.
Police say he then pulled out a handgun and pointed it at one of the officers, once retreated from the vehicle they returned fire and shot Spencer.
