Interstate Reopens After 95-Car Pile Up
GALAX, VA-- Glass, metal, and fire covered the interstate after a deadly Easter Sunday wreck.
The accident happened around 1:15 p.m. on I-77 near the Virginia-North Carolina border. According to the Virginia Department of Transportation, dense fog is to blame for the 95-car pile up. They say the drivers were practically blinded.
Traffic was backed up for about 8 miles and the interstate had to shut down for the night, but reopened early Monday morning.
Three people were killed in the crash and more than 20 people are still recovering. The names of the victims have not been released.
