MINT HILL, N.C. -- A Matthews man has several charges against him after driving in the wrong direction on the highway.
Trooper Greer with State Highway Patrol tell WCCB that they issued a "Be On the Lookout" when a silver PT Cruiser was driving southbound on the northbound, outer loop of I-485 around midnight Thursday night.
The driver of the car, identified as William Brinnier, 57, side swiped a car, causing both vehicles to spin out. Significant damage was done to the victim's vehicle. Fortunately, no injuries were reported.
Stallings Police were able to stop Brinnier about 4-5 miles from the crash site on Lawyers Road. He is charged with DWI, Hit and Run, and Reckless Driving.
Brinnier is listed as a psychology professor at CPCC.
