CHARLOTTE, N.C.-- An outbreak of a rare form of Meningitis is now blamed for five deaths in several states. At least 30 people are sick, including one person in North Carolina.

They all received steroid injections for back pain. Health officials have linked the outbreak to a specialty pharmacy in Massachusetts.

They're warning doctors and hospitals not to use products from the company. The type of Meningitis involved is not contagious.

It is caused by a fungus often found in leaf mold. There's no word on how it may have gotten into the steroid.
