NJ Gov. Christie returning to NC for McCrory
CHARLOTTE, N.C. (AP)-- New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie is coming again to North Carolina to help get fellow Republican Pat McCrory into the Executive Mansion. McCrory's campaign announced Wednesday - the day after Christie delivered the keynote at the Republican National Convention - that the party's rising star would appear at a fundraiser and do some campaigning with the former Charlotte mayor. Details were not immediately available, but the fundraiser is slated for a private home in Charlotte. Christie raised money for McCrory's campaign in November in Greensboro. McCrory is not attending the Republican convention. McCrory has said he originally planned to attend the convention for one day but decided to spend time campaigning in western North Carolina. |
