Safety Changes at the State FairRALEIGH, N.C.--There are safety changes at the state fair in Raleigh this year to stop another E. Coli outbreak. 25 people got sick from the bacteria after attending the fair in 2011. The changes include moving food vendors away from animal exhibits and preventing visitors from touching the cattle. Hand washing stations also have more lighting and signs. The fair runs through October 21st. Stomach cramps and diarrhea are the most common symptoms of E.Coli. They usually show up three to four days after infection, but it could be as much as 10 days. You can get the bacteria from raw or undercooked meat. A person who has E.Coli and doesn't wash their hands can also spread it to you.
