Suspect Arrested in North Charlotte Triple Shooting

CHARLOTTE, N.C. -- Detectives with the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department Homicide Unit have arrested a suspect in connection with a North Charlotte shooting, which injured three people Sunday morning.

On November 18, 2012, at about 2:30 a.m., officers in the North Division responded to an assault with a deadly weapon call for service near the intersection of Old Plank Road and Almore Drive. When officers arrived, they located a male suffering from an apparent gun shot wound. The victim was transported to the hospital. A short time later, two more victims were brought to the hospital, also suffering from gunshot wounds. The victims sustained non-life threatening injuries.

Detectives charged Vincent Bourne, 20, with three counts of assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill or inflict serious injury, for the shooting of victims, Prince Maylea, 19, Ashion Singleton, 18, and a third victim.

During the investigation, the victims stated that they went to a party to pick up one of their girlfriends when they became in an argument with individuals known to them. Homicide Unit detectives, with the assistance of the vice and gang unit, identified Bourne as the shooter in the incident.

Bourne was arrested Wednesday night by CMPD’s Violent Criminal Apprehension Unit and transported to police headquarters where he was then interviewed by Homicide Detectives and transported to the Mecklenburg County Sheriff'’s Office, where he remains in custody.
