TAYLORSVILLE, N.C.-- Police have charged three people in Alexander County for robbing a drug store at gunpoint.

According to authorities, the Peoples Drugs store in Taylorsville was robbed around 5 p.m. on Sunday. They say a masked man demanded Oxycontin pills at gunpoint and then fled the scene with the drugs.

Detectives say they used surveillance video to link the getaway car to a resident of Taylorsville. They then found the clothing that was used in the robbery inside the resident's home.

Joseph Milam, 35, and Darryl Cupp, 28, were charged with robbery with a dangerous weapon. Hailey Lu-Joy Stephens, 23, was charged with accessory. Police believe Milam robbed the store and Cupp drove the vehicle. They say the three were probably going to sell the Oxycontin pills.
