Man Arrested in West Charlotte Fast Food Robberies
CHARLOTTE, N.C. -- Police have arrested and charged a man they say robbed two fast food restaurants in west Charlotte. On February 1, around 10:10 a.m., police say Jonathan Shaird entered the Taco Bell on Freedom Drive and demanded cash. After receiving an unknown amount of cash, the suspect left the scene in a car driven by a second suspect.
A short time later, an armed robbery occurred at the Wendy's also located on Freedom Drive. Police say the suspect entered the restaurant, demanded cash, and forced the employees to the rear of the restaurant. The suspect left the scene in a car driven by another suspect.
During the investigation, officers were able to identify Shaird as a suspect. Warrants were obtained for his arrest. On Wednesday, he was located and immediately taken into custody. Police have charged him with two counts of robbery with a dangerous weapon of a business and two counts of conspiracy to commit armed robbery.
No injuries were reported during these robberies.
