CHARLOTTE, N.C-- Respect My Vote! town hall meeting was held Sunday to help young voters register, discuss voter concerns, and get pledges. The event had several guest speakers and a panel that discussed the importance of voting and voting rights.

The event was held at Charlotte School of Law and was sponsored by the Hip Hop Caucus, BET Network and the Election Protection Coalition. The event was non-partisan and meant to educate and register young between the ages of 18 and 40.

The town hall panel featured Barbara Arnwine; Kevin Powell, renowned activist, writer, and speaker; Big Mike, recording artist; Carrie Cook, local community activist and founder of the Youth EmpowHERment movement; moderated by Rev. Lennox Yearwood Jr.
