CHARLOTTE, NC - Duke Energy CEO Jim Rogers recently sat down with Fox Charlotte to discuss several hot topic issues, including the Duke Energy - Progress Energy merger and the Democratic National Convention.

Rogers says he's committed to Charlotte's future as an "energy hub".  He prides himself on being a leader in an area where he has initiated programs uniting the 250 energy related companies that employ about 27,000 people.  He says he believes competition, among those companies, produces stronger results and innovation.

Rogers also played a key role in bringing the Democratic National Convention to Charlotte.  Because of his leadership qualities, people have made the comparison that "Jim Rogers is to Energy in Charlotte, what Hugh McColl was to Banking".  

In his personal life, Rogers is passionate about scuba diving, fly fishing, skiing and making waffles for his grand kids.  He says when his contract comes up in two years, he and his family plan to continue living in Charlotte, being advocates for years to come.
