BENNETTSVILLE, S.C. (AP) — A Bennettsville woman has been charged with neglect in the death of her stillborn son after police say she tested positive for cocaine.
Multiple media outlets reported 29-year-old Quiana Morrison was arrested Tuesday.
Bennettsville Police Detective Deborah Young says Morrison delivered a stillborn 27-week-old boy Sunday at Marlboro Park Hospital. Young says hospital officials later administered a drug test and Morrison tested positive for cocaine.
Marlboro County Coroner Tim Brown says he doesn't have autopsy results yet from the Medical University of South Carolina in Charleston.
It was unclear if Morrison had an attorney. She was being held in the Marlboro County jail.
Her three other children are being cared for by their grandmother.
