Greenville police arrest 2 in 1977 robbery, deathGREENVILLE, S.C. (AP) — Greenville police have arrested two men in the robbery and beating death of a Greek immigrant more than 30 years ago. Chief Terri Wilfong said Monday Darnell Guyton and Billy Dudley had been arrested and charged with murder and strong-arm robbery. Police say 53-year-old Thomas Bikas was found dead on a sidewalk near his home by a passer-by who flagged down police in November 1977. Bikas' wallet was missing. Investigators say Dudley and Guyton followed Bikas for several blocks before attacking him and beating him to death. Wilfong says Guyton was arrested in Minnesota, and investigators found Dudley in West Virginia. Both men will be brought back to South Carolina. |
