Obscenity trial for SC woman delayed until Jan.

BONNEAU, S.C. (AP) — The trial of a South Carolina woman who displayed plastic testicles on the back of a pickup truck again been delayed.

The trial of Virginia Tice of Bonneau (bah-NO') was to begin Wednesday in municipal court in the Berkeley County community. But the trial has been delayed until next month.

It's the third time there has been a delay in the trial. Tice received a $445 ticket last July on a charge she violated the state's obscene bumper sticker law.

The law says that a sticker or emblem is obscene when it describes in an offensive way sexual acts, excretory functions or body parts.

Bonneau Police Chief Franco Fuda wants a jury trial, saying questions of obscenity should be determined by community standards.
