BEAUFORT, S.C. (AP) — The principal at Great Falls High School has been named the new principal at Beaufort High — a school coming off of a grade-changing controversy.
The Beaufort Gazette reports (http://bit.ly/KaiyrU ) that Corey Murphy has taught science and is a captain in the U.S. Army Reserves who recently completed a tour in Afghanistan.
Murphy was selected from 58 applicants. He begins June 18, taking over from interim principal Terry Bennett.
Bennett was named interim principal in February after the resignation of Dan Durbin, who admitted changing grades for 33 students.
