COLUMBIA, S.C. (AP) — Authorities say a man suspected of firebombing a South Carolina probation office killed himself in his cell.
Richland County Coroner Gary Watts says 25-year-old Joshua L. Sullivan of Columbia hanged himself on Friday at the Richland County jail.
Watts says a jail guard found Sullivan while doing rounds Friday afternoon and tried to resuscitate him.
Sullivan had been charged with arson and malicious injury to animals. Authorities say he was arrested in June on charges stemming from a fire bomb attempt on the building housing the Department of Probation, Parole and Pardons.
Authorities are still investigating his death.
