Former lieutenant governor Ard hosting radio show

FLORENCE, S.C. (AP) — Former Lt. Gov. Ken Ard is talking publicly five months after resigning from office — as the host of a morning radio talk show.

The Morning News of Florence reports that Ard began hosting "Good Morning Pee Dee" on WFRK on Monday.

Miller Communications manager Dave Baker says the hour-long show airs weekdays starting at 8 a.m.

Ard resigned in March shortly before pleading guilty to ethics violations, just 15 months into his first term. The 48-year-old former Florence County councilman was sentenced to five years of probation and 300 hours of public service.

Miller Communications CEO Harold Miller says Ard was hired for his knowledge of the Pee Dee and its residents and for his likable personality.
