MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. (AP) — Police in Myrtle Beach have arrested a 24-year-old pizza delivery driver, saying he lied about being robbed at gunpoint by several men.

The SunNews of Myrtle Beach reports (http://bit.ly/Pa7yJx) 24-year-old Shane Lurvey Geddie is charged with false information on a document.

Authorities say Geddie told police that he'd delivered a pizza when he stopped for a man standing in the road. He said two men then jumped out of some bushes, leaned inside the car and began punching him. He said one of the men pointed a handgun at him and he gave them $60.

Geddie was unable to give police a description of the suspects and told police he didn't want them to search the car. After detectives collected more information, Geddie was arrested.

No further details were available.
