AUGUSTA, Ga. (AP) — Department of Justice officials say a South Carolina man has been sentenced in a credit card fraud scheme in Georgia.

Cheree Powers, spokeswoman for the Southern District of Georgia says 24-year-old Jaequan Malone, of Columbia, S.C., was sentenced this week to 48 months in prison. Officials say the man was speeding in May 2011 when he was pulled over in east Georgia and an officer found several credit, debit and gift cards, a laptop, and a credit card encoder used to making counterfeit cards. Authorities say they also found 350 electronically stored credit and debit card numbers.

Malone's accomplice, 25-year-old Shikym Williams, also of Columbia, S.C., was sentenced in February to serve 72 months in prison.

Both are ordered to serve three years of supervised release after their prison terms.
