CATTLE
Direct Trade:
In the direct slaughter cattle trade in the Five Major Marketing Areas,
Texas/Oklahoma; Kansas; Nebraska; Colorado; Iowa/Minnesota; on Friday,
negotiated cash trade was at a standstill in the Texas Panhandle. The last
established market was Wednesday with live sales at 126.00. In Kansas,
trading is limited on light demand. Not enough sales for a market trend. The
last established market was Thursday with live sales selling at 126.00. In
Nebraska, trading light on light demand. Compared to last week, live sales sold
2.50-4.00 lower from 126.00-126.50. Dressed sales sold steady at 202.00 with a
few up to 204.00 when compared to Thursday. In Colorado, trading was light to
moderate on light to moderate demand. Compared to last week, live sales sold
3.50-4.50 lower at 126.50. In the Western Cornbelt, trading was light on light
demand. Not enough sales for an adequate market trend. The last established
market was on Thursday with live sales selling at 127.00 and dressed sales from
203.00-204.00.
