COLUMBIA, S.C. (AP) — Advocates for military veterans and those who suffer from post-traumatic stress disorder are holding a rally at the South Carolina Statehouse.

Thursday's rally is being held to mark a national day of awareness about the issue. It is sponsored by the group known as Hidden Wounds, which works to educate members of the community about the affliction. The group says one in four military veterans may struggle with PTSD, but it can afflict anyone who experiences trauma.

Speakers are slated to address attendees and members of veteran motorcycle groups are participating by riding in a blocked-off lane at the Statehouse.
