SC man's body pulled from Wando RiverMONCKS CORNER, S.C. (AP) — Search teams have found the body of a South Carolina man who fell into the Wando River. Multiple media outlets reported the body of 47-year-old Jim Turner of Mount Pleasant was found about 1:30 a.m. Monday in the river in Berkeley County. Chief Deputy Coroner Bill Salisbury says Turner fell into the river from a boat while he and other adults and children were swimming in the river near the state Highway 41 bridge. Turner had climbed back on the boat after swimming and was sitting on the side when he fell in the water. The others jumped into the water but were unable to find him. |
